An ADHD Search Portal: Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - ADHD - is usually considered to be a developmental neurological disorder affecting 5% of the world's population. Typically presenting during childhood with symptoms being a persistent pattern of hyperactivity, forgetfulness, inattention, impulsiveness, and distractibility. ADHD is considered to be a chronic condition with no medical cure. Most commonly diagnosed in children, ADHD over the past decade has been increasingly diagnosed in adults. Approximately 60% of children diagnosed with ADHD carry the disorder into adulthood. ADHD appears to be highly heritable, but connected also to trauma or toxic exposure. Treatment will normally combine medications, behavior modifications, life style changes, and counseling.
